09/14/2025 Israel’s Evil Kings (1 Kings 14-15; 2 Chronicles 12-13)

As you lead your children in faith, this week’s lesson is a valuable opportunity to talk about the idols that can quietly take root in our hearts. Just like the kings of Israel led the people away from God through idolatry, we too can be tempted to place our trust or affection in things other than the Lord. Help your children see that anything we value more than God can become an idol, but that Jesus gave His life to set us free from sin and draw us back to Him. As you talk and pray together, remind them of the forgiveness and new life we have through Christ. Your faithful guidance helps them learn to treasure God above all else.
