About Family Ministry
Family Ministry is a support ministry for the families of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and Calvary Chapel Schools. We disciple families in their relationships with God by providing support, encouragement, and training. We believe it is through the power of God’s Holy Spirit, the ministry of his redemptive story of his Word, and the discipleship of the body of Christ that true transformation happens.
Our mission is to support and help families develop their relationships with God to be Jesus Formed. We see the role of parents as the primary and most important influence in the spiritual formation of a child’s life. Therefore, we view our role as one of coming alongside a family and helping the parents to be a Jesus Formed Community on Mission with their family.
ONGOING MEETINGS
Parent Devotions Fellowship
Parents of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and Calvary Chapel Schools come together on the 2nd Thursday of each month for fellowship in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for coffee, treats, and a short devotion by the Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa Family Pastor, Craig Coffin.
Parenting Class: “Spiritual Parenting” (seasonal)
Wednesday Gathering: 6:30 PM–8 PM. Childcare provided (0–5th grade). Youth groups for 6th–8th grade (JHM) and 9th–12th grade (HSM). We do an 8-week teaching on “Spiritual Parenting.” Come to be encouraged in your relationship with Jesus and in parenting. Check-in for children starts at 6:15 PM.
Husbands’ Discipleship
This is for husbands only. We provide a small group setting designed specifically to help men become Christ-like husbands. We are studying through a discipleship book specifically geared to helping men become loving, caring husbands in a biblical and Christlike manner. We meet on Monday nights at 6:30 PM in the Pastors’ Offices. Please come if you are interested. (Our class is in the fall and spring). Women’s Joyful Life Group
We meet on Tuesdays in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 PM as part of the evening Women’s Joyful Life groups. We are going through the Book of Colossians.
Moms of Prayer
We pray for our adult children, 18 years of age and older, whether they are prodigals or walking with the Lord. All moms, grandmothers, and anyone who wants to pray for the adult child in their lives are welcome.
Tuesdays: 5:30–6:30 PM in the Family Room
