Faithful Witness In the Face of the World's Hatred

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” John 15:18–19

Pastor Char reminds us that Jesus is the true human. He is what God intended humanity to be. And our lives are to reflect Jesus’ life and words. But there have been times when Christ has been rejected because our message, methods, practice, tone, and posture have not aligned with the ways of Jesus. So what are we to do? We are to abide in Jesus. We are to allow his Spirit to do his work in us that we might put the life of Jesus on display. If we don't respond in the way of Jesus to the world’s hatred and rejection, our deeds and actions will unsay what we proclaim about Jesus and his Gospel.
